James R. Reed “ Rusty”
Physical Therapist
Rusty is a native of New Iberia. He graduated from the Louisiana State University system in 1983 and has over 39 years of experience practicing physical therapy. His extensive background includes work in acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, home health, and skilled nursing. He joined Southern Spine Institute in 2026, drawn to the clinic’s reputation for excellence and its focus on providing superior care options in a smaller, personalized environment.
Leah Ryder
Leah is a native of Opelousas, La. She graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1989 in Business Administration. She began working at Lafayette Bone & Joint Clinic in 1986 and helped establish Southern Spine Institute in 1999.
Harold Broussard
Physical Therapy Technician
Harold is a native of Crowley, La. He began his therapy career in 1994 at Nova Care in Crowley. He joined Southern Spine Institute in 1999. He has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, home health, and nursing homes.
Lacey Vasseur
Lacey is a native of Lafayette, La. She began working at Lafayette Bone & Joint in 2022 and later joined Southern Spine Institute that same year.
